Cabra Corral Dyke and Bermejo River
Salta

Million-year-old rock walls. Bright red rocks combined with white sandstones. Geological formations once inhabited by dinosaurs… This is the Cabra Corral dyke, where the whole family can go on low-difficulty kayak trips, exploring the reservoir’s calm waters and discovering its islands and coasts.
If you want to paddle along the Bermejo River, kayak and canoe trips start from the city of Orán, 275 kilometres north of Salta’s capital. It is of low difficulty, resulting in a calm and contemplative rowing activity, suitable for all ages. The best time to practise it is from May to November, and you can choose between a half-day experience (from 10 to 15 kilometres), and even a three-day experience (from 80 to 90 kilometres), with camping nights in wild areas, and local gastronomy tastings. In October, the nautical pilgrimage of San Roque, a typical patron saint celebration of the area, takes place in this river.
