Iberá Wetlands - San Antonio Portal

Corrientes

The Portal San Antonio, located in the west of the Esteros, invites you to do kayaking, bird watching, hiking and photographic safaris. The town of Loreto, just 17 km away, proposes a trip to connect with Jesuit traditions.

The Esteros del Iberá is a large natural reserve where the Great Iberá Park is located, made up of the Iberá Provincial Park and the Iberá National Park.

Open to visitors all year round. The hottest season is between December and March. It is advisable to access the area in the company of a local guide.

What to see
Activities

In the Carambola stream and in the Estero Bola wetland you can go kayaking, hiking, bird watching or do photographic safaris.

Before going to this portal, it is recommended to go to the tourist information office that is in the town of Loreto to request the telephone numbers of the service providers and hire the excursions.

Loreto Porá tourist circuit

This is a 15 km-long rural road that connects three locations. You can enjoy bird-watching and admire the landscape from the viewpoints along the way.

The town of Loreto, just 17 km away, offers thematic walks such as the home chapels, the foundations of the historical murals and the monolith, and the Teodoro Fruto gaucho trail, among others. You can also visit the Sacro Museum or the Mario Bofill Art Museum.

How to get there and move around

Located 167 km away from Corrientes capital city along Provincial Route 5 and National Route 118 (all paved).

Another slightly longer option (220 km in total) is along National Routes 12 and 118 (there are 16 km of gravel road to Puerto San Antonio).

Where to stay

Loreto is the closest option for accommodation and gastronomic services. San Miguel also offers different types of lodging and gastronomic options. Private ecotourism lodging complexes can be found in the surroundings.
