Islands and beaches in Santa Fe

Santa Fe

Several islands and beaches are found near Rosario and are perfect to rest and enjoy the fresh air. You can play sports, such as football and volleyball on the sand or practise water sports such as kayaking, kitesurfing or stand-up paddleboarding in the Paraná River.

You can visit them all year round. The best time to go there is in summer so as to enjoy the beaches and the river. The beach “Paradores” (bars on the beach) in Rosario open in summer and boats run from spring to autumn.

What to see
Near Rosario

The most popular beaches in Rosario are La Florida and Rambla Catalunya. Another recommended option is to cross the river from the northern coast to Invernada Island, which offers a view of the Rosario-Victoria Bridge.


You can also visit Banquito de San Andrés, a small island with several bars, well-known as a quiet place to enjoy the day.

Waterfall and Reserve

About 40 km to the south of Rosario, you will find Pavón Waterfall, an 8-metre cascade on the plains that flows into the Paraná River.


Going 20 km more to the south, northeast of Villa Constitución, the Isla del Sol Municipal Natural Reserve protects the wetlands in the Delta ecoregion and Paraná islands, and is the perfect place to observe the flora, watch birds, go kayaking or biking. Entrance is free, but reservation is required.

Beach life between Rosario and Santa Fe

In the city centre of Santa Fe, the beaches on the east and west promenade and the beaches of Santo Tomé, Sauce Viejo and Coronda are optimal places to relax, enjoy beach life, water sports and fishing. Moreover, Coronda hosts the International Open Water Swimming Race. Coronda is also popular for its delicious strawberries.

How to get there and move around

There is a regular flight and bus service to Rosario and Santa Fe. A train service also connects Buenos Aires with Rosario.

 

Access roads to beaches and beach resorts are paved; you can drive or take public transport.
