Sierras de Ventania (Rp 76)
Buenos Aires
Surrounded by a landscape featuring mountains, streams, fields and low grasslands, you will discover a different side of the province of Buenos Aires. These 49 kilometres start in the city of Sierra de la Ventana. Among its mountains and ravines, you will have the chance to spot copper iguanas and waybreads, which only occur in this area of the Pampas.
The following stop is the quiet and peaceful Villa Ventana, delimited by Belisario and Las Piedras streams. Further on, Ernesto Tornquist Provincial Park has trails leading to the peak of several mountains, a natural cave, a botanical garden, the popular “window” of Ventana Mountain and a natural pool with a waterfall. The peak of Tres Picos Mountain (known as the roof of the province), at 1,139 metres, also awaits you. This route, which at first glance seems short, becomes immense with each kilometre travelled and ends in Tornquist, the oldest city in the region.
