Los Altares (RN 25)
Chubut
The protagonist of this trip is National Route 25. A road that crosses the Patagonian steppe from east to west and with 100 scenic kilometres between plateaus and stone giants.
Almost halfway through the tour, you will cross Los Altares, the largest protected natural area in Chubut and a great geological heritage of Argentina. Its impressive red cliffs over the Chubut River rise like altars in a landscape from another time, where eaves, caves and walls with cave paintings are hidden that you can discover on foot.
