Ruta de los Acantilados (RP 1)
Río Negro
If you want to breathe in the sea breeze, if your eyes need to rest on endless horizons, if you are eager to discover the marine fauna of the Atlantic, this route is for you.
The city of El Cóndor will welcome you with its towering cliffs. From here, the force of the sea will accompany you on one side, while the immense steppe will escort you on the other. You will arrive at a lighthouse, the oldest one in Patagonia, and on its beach, you will discover the largest colony of burrowing parrots in the world. In La Lobería, get ready to plunge into its large rock pools when the sea is low. In Punta Bermeja, sharpen your eyes and ears to let the largest colony of South American sea lions in South America startle you. Bahía Rosas is the prologue to the end of this route: the height of the cliffs starts to decrease and the dunes soften the landscape until you reach Bahía Creek, a small coastal town facing the sea.
